Hoist Training

This course aims to teach learners the correct procedures when attempting to move a person using a hoist. The different types of hoists and slings available and how to stay safe when using them. This course is ideal for anyone working in the care sector who as part of their role may have to use a hoist when delivering care to a client or patient.

    • Risk assessment
    • Correct techniques
    • Types of equipment
    • Maintaining dignity and respect
    • Effective communication during Moving and Handling
    • Protecting yourself and others from injuries
    • Practical training in use of equipment and safe transfers

    This is a hands-on practical opportunity for those who attend to learn practical knowledge of the safe moving and positioning of people. At the end of the course, there is an assessment to ensure the correct use of all equipment.

    How long is the course?

    The course is half a day, running 09:00 am - 12:30 pm

    Where is the course held?
    The courses are run at our Training Academy which is 10 Minutes away from Chesterfield town centre and has regular bus routes every 10 minutes and there is plenty of parking available.
