The purpose of the role is to provide for clients a range of flexible shopping services in accordance to clients support plan

Key Responsibilities

  • To obtain shopping lists from clients and clarify items or and agree with suitable alternatives.
  • To deliver shopping to client’s home, put away and store safely and securely as directed by the client and following Moving and Handling guidelines.
  • To be compliant with client finances and to ensure systems of work and policies and procedures of One to One Support Services and the local authorities are followed.
  • To ensure all insurance to use your vehicle for work purposes on your insurance policy.
  • To advocate, where appropriate, on the clients behalf, whilst always ensuring their right to privacy, dignity, choice and respect. Also to record and report to Line Manager any Safeguarding issues that arises.  
  • To maintain an awareness of good practice, so that a high Quality and responsive services can be maintained and in accordance with training.
  • To help maintain constructive contact family and other significant people involved staff to not engage or communicate with clients outside of these times in order to preserve professional boundaries and relationships. This will include not communicating with them on social media and care staff will not share personal phone numbers or address with clients.
  • To be agreeable to using iCare app on their mobile device. To use iCare systems to sign in and out of services and to regularly update the office with information using the mobile Care Worker System
  • All staff are expected to be available for work 7 days per week including night duties unless otherwise agreed at the commencement of the post. To comply with availability unless annual leave has been placed and has been authorised.
  • Accessing the client’s place of residents staff follow systems of work, policies and guidance including the clients care plan.
  • Be willing to attend training as required, formal meetings, supervisions and annual appraisals.
  • Be available to cover colleagues work in their absence or sickness.
  • To undertake tasks as required and to carry out any other duties consistent with the nature of the grade of the post.

    A Full DBS check is required, employee pays cost initially.
