I joined One to One several years ago as a carer because we had just been given gold Investors in People which says a great deal about how a company is led and how staff are supported and empowered. Our CQC inspection was also fully compliant with no recommendations.
Within the 1st year, I applied to be a senior and received a promotion, and completed the training which is taught by Melanie. We again won gold status with Investors in People. Within supervisions, cluster meetings, staff meetings, appraisals clusters, staff are empowered. We are given opportunities to train in different fields and grow our expertise.
I was given the opportunity to apply for service manager which I successfully obtained. This role is extremely satisfying as well as challenging because as part of the sams team we all make decisions about the company. We support each other in making the company second to none, but we have fun too. We have team building days for strategic planning which all the managers are a part of to move the company forward. I have recently received a further promotion to Lead Service Manager which is a role delivering quality/mentoring to all the staff in the company. Offering guidance, advice, transferable skills, empowerment, empathy, and effective leadership to all. One to one has given me the opportunity to be a leader and a manager being responsible for supporting those who need care and support, but for taking care of our staff and influencing the quality.
