Bernadette Wattam
My education and background has always been progressive, I left school and completed A Levels then continued on to do my nursing in which I specialised in Mental Health and Dementia. I then went on to train in the legal system supporting individuals who have been subject to crime.
After a short break in my working life to care for my daughter I then entered the world of education and trained as a Tutor/Assessor in Health and Social Care. I have progressed and upskilled myself here at One to One Support Services and trained as a Deputy Manager and then being fortunate enough to be offered the Role of Training Academy Manager, I am now completing my level 7 in business and management.
Statement of specialist interest areas
I have several specialist interest areas which cover a varied scale of knowledge and hands on experience. I have extensive training and occupational experience Dementia and Mental Health via my nursing training. I have also knowledge and understanding of the equality and diversity requirements within the overall society and support this in my life and role.
I have completed management level training in Prevent and Safeguarding and also deliver prevent and British Values and Medication Administration Course to support individuals administering medication in the community. I also run a 2 day Health and Social care awareness training course to refresh and support new staff and experienced staff entering the sector.
I am also a qualified counsellor level 3 and support my local community school as a school governor

I feel the session was very informative, a lot of personal examples were used which I feel helps you remember.
I have learned a lot more about CVs and preparing yourself for interviews. It has been interesting to learn how to fill in application forms properly as well and how to answer questions in the correct manner when asked. (Level 1 Employability Qualification)
