Peak FM Ice Cream Tour for The Sick Children's Trust

Date: Wednesday, July 26, 2017

On July 26th, 2017 One to One Support Services had some very special visitors. We had Cat and Ricky from Peak FM's breakfast show visit us on their Fredricks Ice Cream Tour for the Sick Children's Trust. The Sick Children's Trust runs free 'Home from Home' accommodation for families with seriously sick children. They have accommodation all over the country, from Cambridge to Newcastle to Sheffield.

Why did we want to take part?

To take part in the Ice Cream Tour was first brought forward to our marketing department by one of our Service Managers who had used the service of the Sick Children's Trust in Sheffield. Her daughter, who was only 5 years old at the time, was taken sick after a misdiagnosis and was taken to Sheffield Children's Hospital for treatment.

While there they were offered accommodation at Treetop House, which is run by the trust and had not long been open at the time. The house which is built on top of the hospital allows families to live in comfort while their child is in treatment. Without the help of the Sick Children's Trust our Service Manager says she doesn't know how they would have coped through such harsh times. Luckily now her daughter is happy and healthy, and at One to One we are proud to be a part of their fundraising journey.
