Meet the team - Jamie Spalding

Welcome back to another edition of our Meet the Team blog! Today's One to One Support Services team member is Lead Service Manager Jamie Spalding!

Jamie joined the team 10 years ago and has worked his way up to be the Lead Service Manager for the North! His specialist areas include, Challenging Behaviour and British Sign Language. He came to One to One already experienced in British Sign Language as he has a family member who is deaf. 

He says the best part about his role is seeing the progression of staff that he mentors and seeing them mature into self-sufficient seniors and managers. 

And finally, if Jamie were to give one piece of advice to someone looking to work in the sector it would be: "Working in care is very rewarding, however, many people start the job thinking it can be a 9-5 and are surprised that on occasion they can be called upon at any time. My advice would be it takes dedication and a real caring nature to do this job."
