A STAFF MEMBERS JOURNEY - MICHELLE HALBERY
Date: Thursday, June 07, 2018
Last month we sat down with Senior Support Worker Lynsey Booker, to discover the journey she has taken, which has let her to where she is today. Well continuing that trend, we recently sat down with Support Worker Michelle Halbery so she could tell us a little bit more about herself, and her staff journey.
“All of our clients are so nice; many of them make me feel like family”
Background:
Before joining One to One Support Services, Michelle worked at Gunstones Bakery in Dronfield. Whilst she had not actively sought a career in care before, Michelle does have family who work in the care industry too, which led her to seek a career in a similar field.
One to One Support Services:
In early 2017 Michelle left Gunstones to forge a new career path. She was referred to the Level 1 Health & Social Care, Children and Young People course. Michelle contacted One to One Support Services to book her place on the next available course. After completing the course in July 2017 Michelle, was invited to interview for a position at One to One. After being successful at interview Michelle started work at a Support Worker here at One to One Support Services.
Progression:
Almost a year later Michelle says she is still enjoying her role at One to One and enjoys making a difference in people’s lives. “This job can sometimes be hard, but it is also very rewarding” she went on to say “All of our clients are so nice; many of them make me feel like family”
What Others Say:
When asked about Michelle, her manager Ajay was very complimentary about Michelle “Michelle is absolutely amazing!, all her colleagues and the management here are always saying how great she is, she is very reliable and always willing to help out when needed. She is a great addition to the company”
