British Sign Language Classes Level 3
Signature Level 3 Award in British Sign Language is designed for people to be able to operate independently and at an advanced level in the language. It is useful for those that work on a regular basis with Deaf people. For example: Social Workers, Teachers of the Deaf, Communicators, Voluntary Workers, Workers Within Deaf Organisations, Schools, etc.
Where is the course held?
The course is held in our Training Academy, which is just 10 minutes out of Chesterfield town centre. It is easily accessible by public transport as a bus stop is only 5 minutes away with departures every 10 minutes towards town.
Buses from Langer Lane stop: 51 (Stagecoach), 63, 63a (Hulleys of Baslow), Spira (TM Travel) and The Comet (Trentbarton).
What will the course cover?
- BSL 320 - Sign Linguistics Knowledge
- BSL 321 - Understanding varied British Sign Language in a range of work situations - Develop receptive skills to follow conversations and discussions
- BSL 322 - Use varied British Sign Langauge in a range of work situations - Produce a portfolio to evidence use of BSL - Develop productive skills to keep a conversation going with familiar areas
How long is the course?
The course is 50 classes plus workshops. Typically taught one afternoon a week with some weekend sessions. Please check with your tutor for more details.
